I am making my mise-en-scene post on the movie The Godfather which came out March 24, 1972. This movie is about the Corleone family's struggle to stay alive in the ruthless Italian Mob. This movies shows how the Corleone family has to deal with the death of each other and of loved ones, the betrayal of friends, and the rise of Michael Corleone as the new head (or Don) of the Corleone mob family. The movie was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, but the book was written by Mario Puzo. In the begging of the movie we are introduced to Amerigo Bonasera the undertaker (this is important to the story), Bonasera is explaining to Vito "Don" Corleone how Bonasera's daughter was assaulted and how the men who did it were persecuted and then they were let go by the judge who was most likely paid off. In this scene it starts off with low key lighting when it shows the perspective of Don Corleone. The only form of light is coming from a window behind Corleone and the light shines on...
Review of a few Camera Angles in the Movie The Greatest Showman (2017) From Producer Michael Gracey I chose the movie the Greatest Showman because recently a lot of people have been recommending it to me. I have been told that it is a great movie and so me and my family decided to watch it. The movie was great and really showed how P.T. Barnum, the circus leader, struggled in life and in business. The shot is a close up shot this shot shows P.T. Barnum in his basic job not doing anything with his life. This shot makes you think about how you want your life to be. If you want to sit in a 9 to 5 job doing nothing with your life or doing something you love. This next shot is an over the shoulder. This shot is from when Barnum is trying to recruit someone that is unique so he goes to a person that he saw in the bank. The person Barnum wants to talk to is extremely short and has been looked down on by society and even his family. So when Barnum offers him a chance to be praised, the short m...
Leit Motif: This is a scene from the first avengers movie. In this shot Captain America is running from the alien race that is trying to conquer the earth. This shot show Leit motif because in the background you can hear the theme music of Captain America. Parallelism : This shot is from Criminal Minds season 4 episode 2. In this episode the FBI's B.A.U. has to catch a serial killer that is believed to be killed by lethal injection. In this scene the B.A.U. and the sheriff of the town are looking into the serial killers grave. After they open his coffin, they expect to find his body but instead they find it empty. This shows parallelism because while the coffin is being opened we are shown the reactions of everyone that is in the graveyard. Simultaneity: This last shot is also from Criminal Minds it is from the same episode. This shot shows simultaneity though because while most of the B.A.U. is trying to distract the killer one of the B.A.U.'s agents goes int...
